We wish to advise you of a change to our billing policy effective February 1st, 2023, After careful consideration and deliberation we have made the decision to transition from bulk billing to a mixed billing system.

As you would be aware, the cost of running a medical practice has significantly increased, Rent, staff, medical supplies, practice software and utilities all cost considerably more now then we imlpemented our bulk billing policy. Additionally, Medicare rebates have been frozen by the government for a decade, further compiling the pressure on general practices.

The following patients will continue to be bulk billed:

• Healthcare Card Holders
• Pensioner Concession Card Holders
• Children under 16
• DVA Patients
• Patients with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders Background

Students with Allianz or Bupa insurance will be billed direct to the cover providers.

Patients who do not have Medicare cover or private health insurance will be charged the same practice fee as Medicare card holders.

In order to continue providing you with the highest quality of care, our charges will be as follows:

How we will charge you

Patients will be required to pay for their appointments in full on the day of their appointment. The Medicare claim will be made on the spot and the rebate will be paid to your account within 24 hours.

Care Plans

• Care plans (including mental mental healthcare plans and care plan reviews) will continue to be bulk billed.
• New patients will need to have an initial general consultation before a care plan will be issued.

Cervial Screening Test (Pap Smear)

• Cervial Screening Tests will be continued to be bulk billed for our regular patients.
• New patients will be required to have a general consultation before the cervial screening test.

Dressing and Wound Care

• Dressing fees will be between $10 - $25 depending on the complexity and time required.
• Debridement fees will be between $150 - $200.

Minor Surgical Procedure

• Minor surgical procedures will attract fees between $10 - $100 depending on their complexity and time required.

TAC and Workcover claims

• These will be billed differently to other consultations.
• Please inform reception staff if you require TAC or Workcover consultation.
